Stop using vehicle recall on center locking 992s

How are folks handling this? I've only got the one car, so stopping use completely gets in the way. However, if the official recall says to stop using vehicle, does that mean that insurance wont be valid until its fixed?

Update: Just confirmed on a call with Porsche that insurance wont be valid. I see quite a few threads about this on FB groups and piston heads - seems like a serious issue.

Hi All
Is this now an official Porsche UK memo? Not had any contact from Porsche or my POC as yet?

I see from the post on rennlist in the states the dealers are picking up effected car and storing them till replacement parts are available. The owners are getting a loan car
My 992 GTS is on the list 🤪

Bought a new 992 turbo cab a few weeks ago and got the call and email yesterday unable to drive with a fix date unknown although unlikely to be this year. What solutions are people being offered, guess it’s a bit too early

This year!!!!!!! Really!!!!!!! Wowsers
I'll give me dealer a call later

Dealer has confirmed it will be the New Year before it's resolved. Quite when in the NY was another question.....

I have been provided with a rental car from Enterprise, which is Porsche standard practice, for an off road situation and I understand that Porsche will be offering some sort of compensation. I have also been told that it is most likely that it will be at least 2 months before the replacement parts can be fitted. So, at the OPC's request, due to limited available secure parking space, my 4 GTS remains parked in my garage, pending recovery to my OPC.

OPC has said compensation package will be announced this time next week, as you say not hopeful of a fix which is expected to be into 2025. Trying to source a courtesy car. Think I will hold onto the car for security rather than it be parked up for months at the back of an OPC

Unfortunately my new car is also affected, registered August ‘24, so the dates on the document are incorrect, as it affects ALL 911’s with centre lock wheels, potentially.

My OPC doesn’t have space to store the car, so it’s staying in my garage, they’re providing me with a new Macan to use until the New Year.

Porsche Germany are working on compensation packages.

Not the best of starts to owning my dream car.

Good you've had a Macan so quickly. I'm in a base spec merc (which is fine - 1st world problems I know). I was contemplating keeping mine here until it was ready to go but it has other warranty issues so want them resolved too and at that stage i hadn't realised it could be 3mnths. Car has only covered just over 2000miles since new (collected late March 24) and had had a number of warranty niggles (rear speakers/bench rattling, sports sill fasteners falling out) and it's been back and forth at least 4 times and they haven't resolved them. Also had PPF fitted (by Porsche who outsourced to Topaz) and that's had a number of issues also.

I was due to take the 911 on a Euro trip a few weeks ago (lucky i didn't) but the warranty issues (loud annoying rattles and the PPF - on the windscreen was causing wiper judder almost continuously) were the main reason for not taking it.

As you say, not the best start to ownership.

I must admit, I'm not filled with confidence by this situation, but will try and stay calm and see how it gets resolved.
