stone guard visuals - opinions please

I'm re-doing some paintwork on my 944 and am wondering whether to keep or remove the carbon-fibre effect rear stone guards. So what do you lot think - keep them as shown, or replace with standard (clear) items?

Personally I quite like them. Car has loads of matt-black trim anyway (window surrounds, bumper trim, spoiler trim, handles, tyres) so it's not out of place. Go totally black and white with clear lenses and monochrome wheel centres as well?
 
I'm in two minds. I can't decide if I like it or not.

Maybe if you kept the upper one, but got rid of the lower one (or replaced that with clear). Just another opinion to throw into the mix!
 
Not sure if I like them or not... I think they go well with the wheels.
Car looks great btw, you almost sold me the idea of moving to 17" Cup wheels...
 
My choice would be to go back to the originals as for me they do jar with the clean looks of the whiteness. But as others have said - your car, your choice !
 
Yes go back to standard clear . A friend gave me a set of black ones last week,tried them on the car and took them off an hour later. In my opinion they look great only when complimented by a set of black centered Fuchs.
 
I like them. I had a white Alfa and it became a bit much. I had to stick a couple of cloverleaf stickers on it to break it up a bit.
 
I quite like the look of them bar the lower one, there was never a stone guard fitted to the sill, white cars actually came with white stoneguards now NLA (Only Clear) i think i wouls stick with black upper one only.
 
The car looks well. With thiose wheels, teardrop mirrors and bridge spoiler it would be a big chsnge to go back to original. With regard to the stoneguards, Porche supplied black ones all round on the latr 911 Carrera 3.2 SE and even colour coded the wheels as an extra. It's all down to personal taste.

I do quite like them but they do look a little bulky - maybe a cut down version - also made me think of this

Thanks all for the feedback - the general view appears to be go back to original. I'll start by removing the bottom section so that the sill is clear, but then maybe try a slightly smaller version of the top guard in black (as suggested by 944 Turbo and Frenchy). If it looks wrong, off it'll come. May even try having the word/logo RUF cut out in the bottom part of the black guard, so it shows through in white. Just a thought.

Now, off to Jon Mitchells Garage to check on progress with the engine rebuild and upgrades. Exciting times ahead.
