Steering wheels ?

ORIGINAL: J4CKO

Is it easy enough to swap out the standard steering wheel as mine seems to be low and my left leg catches on it sometimes, I am not stupidly tall at just over 6ft but it can be annoying, slightly exacerbated by a sprained ankle at the moment.

Anyone changed it, for one of a smaller diameter or one with a flat bottom, is it a good move or does it make the steering heavy or are there any other implications ?

Someone may have mentioned it already, but just so you are aware; the standard 'lozenge' wheel has an offset boss to increase leg clearance by ~20mm with the wheel in the straight-ahead position.

Replacing it with an aftermarket wheel will likely make your clearance situation worse, unless you go for a very small diameter, which may look and feel a little odd...

IMHO as a first check, I'd go with Simon's advice and look for evidence of seat raising blocks.
