I bought a refurbished one off ebay which seems to have held up well in the time I've had it. The company were based in bristol or wales I think

I had a company in the UK refurb mine, KELLYBRAY is the name of the firm If I recall right, great job at a resonable price...

Yea the place is in Bristol I have a mate that works there

Does a later rack fit a early car or are they the different

Berlyn sell racks refurbished by ZF, their original manufacturer. Cost me £301 in 2002. Bert recommended not going down the seal kit route, as the track rods are invariably scored, and new seals cannot counter this problem.

I was about to say. I would go for a factory recon rack over a generic recon item. Certainly the ones I have had for other cars as of late have not been great (XL rack for a Mondeo went notchy in 30k, the item on my Stag had play from the off (also a PAS rack).

Hi All,

I recently bought a rack for my 944 turbo from western Power Steering in Bristol. On exchange basis, but they gave me 2 weeks to get the old unit back to them. Cost £175.00 has been on car since March and no issues whatsoever... Even my Porsche garage took their number for future consideration...

here is their website

That's who my mate works for and they've put the price up to £200 now
Ill Obviously will not be paying that price

I've had a offer of a ps rack BUT its from a 86 car with a part number of
945 347 011 22 that's of a picture
My car is a 84 with part number
945 037 011 20

Does this mean I can't use this rack or is it just that its newer with a different number
Both racks look identical to me
