Steel wheel re-chroming

I am restoring a 912 and I want to keep the original chrome plated steel wheels. The wheels are dated and it is very important that this car stays original.
To re-chrome them properly they need to be split, re-chromed and then welded back together. Has anyone done this ?
Could anyone recommend a company that provides this service.
