Lots of things to consider such as changing the oil and filter, remove the spark plugs and put some oil in each cylinder, then I'd suggest using an axle stand to lift one of the wheels off the ground and turn the engine over by hand, by using the raised wheel with the engine in 5th gear. If everything moves OK, then how about draining the fuel tank to get the water out of it (ten years of condensation could be 2-300ml). There won't be any oil on any of the moving parts so getting lubrication around the system will be a challenge. You could try turning the engine over on the starter, with the plugs removed and the ignition disconnected (with the plugs disconnected the ignition tends to generate excessively high voltages, knackering the internal components). IF everything then looks OK, check to see if the airbox has a pop-off valve and if not, take off the air filter before trying to start the engine, as any backfire will explode the airbox. Also, a new fuel filter will probably be needed, there's likely to be lots of crud in the tank as well as water. Good luck, hope yo get everything running, an SC is a joy to drive.
