Squealing noise

I have this annoying squealing noise on the driver side at the front wheel when the S2 is moving slowly (<10 mph) or slowing down. The noise can be heard (rather loud) at the every cycle of the wheel.

The pads, caliper and discs are all nearly new and checked by an indie. He tried to sort out the noise on a few occasion but with no avail. Just wonder what will be the cause? wheel bearing? CV joint? Steering rack?

One thing that I have noticed is the steering wheel seems to feels a bit heavy recently which is probably irrelevant.

Mine does exactly the same and only on the drivers side! Also has new pads, discs etc and still does it, id given up for the time being with trying to fix it!

Do the pads move freely in the caliper, if not I`d suggest its the pads.

Either that or a slightly warped disc.

I always grind a tad off a pad (especially if its a tight fit) and use coppergrease on the pad guides. You can hear the pads clicking about on bumps etc [8|] but they release properly which is important if doing a lot of braking and particularly on track where all the metalwork/alloy expands a lot and can bind the pads.

Brake pads not backing off completely or a slightly warped disc.

On a gentle slope see if the car will roll freely, if it does you`re ok, if not they are binding (caliper plate lift can cause this)

If you have slight caliper plate lift and can get the pads out then grind a little bit off and taper the bottom/side corner so as to make the bottom width narrower, it`ll free them up and allow removal at a later date.

For what its worth mine did this a bit when warm but always on the drivers side for some reason and even with new discs (and also on other cars I`ve owned)

But the calipers are quite new .... 6 mths old in the front and 2 years in the back ... so plate lift probably not the case?

The pads and discs are quite new too.
