Spyder Raincoat

Like to use my Spyder every dry weekend but occasionally the forecast predicts possible showers etc so I leave the car at home only to regret it later when nothing wet happened [:D]

I think I have now found an extremely quick to fit, easy to store and cost effective solution (£41.42 incl) to save having to risk the car get showered internally [:eek:]

I thought the Spyder came with a raincoat of a kind? I was at OPC Glasgow a couple of months ago and saw outside what I'd assumed was a Spyder because it had a very soft top held down at the back with straps reaching back to large metal loops just in front of the rear hatch. Looked more like a tent than a soft top.

"Suncap" [8D] Takes roughly 2 minutes to put the suncap on and similar to take it back off

My Raincoat goes on in about 30 seconds all done and dusted and is purely as a safety net / peace of mind should there be an unexpected shower or downpour as can happen in this country. If this year is a repeat of last year I will probably use it about 6 times or so and hopefully each one will prove a false alarm :ROFLMAO:
 
I made one up for my Speedster ....buy two bicycle covers from Poundland open then up and a strip off gaffer tape to join then a couple of straps fitted job done cost £2 [:D]
 
Why not use the roof and only take it off on the good days?

You'll get to use the car more that way.
 
That's brilliant Robert,

With a small modification or two - e.g. cut a couple of holes in front of the driver and another in the side (no need to see behind - take the Italian view that what's behind doesn't matter) and you'll never even need to take it off!

What do you think the max speed with the roof on is compared to the OEM fitment ?

I use the car only on the good days so never any need to put the tent up [:D] This weekend was fantastic topless motoring and another 100 miles on the speedo weather was so good didn't even have to think about using the raincoat just the heated chairs and some hot air was perfect[8D]

Unfortunately using the car in iffy weather or with tent on just isn't anywhere as much fun IMO
