SPONGY THROTTLE RESPONSE IN NEW MACAN GTS 440BHP

Is there a fix for the appalling throttle response in the current Macan GTS? I have owned this car from new and have been disappointed that the initial throttle response is more that of a Fiesta than a 440bhp monster. My Boxster S goes instantly at the slightest touch of the throttle, but despite them having 0-62 figures etc almost identical, the Macan takes an age to get going in Comfort and little less in Sport, where it holds low gears quite unacceptably for an urban environment. I want the slightest touch of the throttle to give a bark, then some instant go.
A visit to the dealer some months ago revealed that the carpet was rouched under the pedal from build, thus preventing kickdown, but since then I have still been less than impressed. I have met an owner who experienced the same lag and described his car...'I hate it... worst car I have ever had..'....(his previous was an Aston).
Can the throttle pedal (drive by wire?) be 'tightened'? Answers please, before the car goes.

Thank you Neil. Sounds very much like witchcraft!!
Have followed the procedure with no noticeable difference. In 'Normal' mode there is nothing at all in the first 1cm or so of throttle depression. I have taken to driving everywhere in 'Sport" (with the trumpets turned off) which is far more responsive, with no apparent detriment to fuel consumption (31mpg on a long run).
For instant response there is always the Boxster S !!!

Nice to have that option! I am surprised that there's no "penalty" for using Sport it certainly doesn't sound right, if it's under warranty I'd be chasing it with a dealer if your usual one is no good try another.

My 2023 GTS is exactly the same, as were the 2 demo's I've driven, it is perfectly normal.
Apparently you can buy an electronic pedal booster that plugs into the wiring of the pedal and makes the normal throttle response feel like sport plus.

Lo and behold, at my 2022 GTS's first service at 13000 miles, it was suggested to reset the throttle response to factory settings! Takeoff now in 'Comfort' is better than it was in 'Sport' previously, crisp and eager to go. I have been scared to try 'Sport' let alone 'Sport Plus'! I have waited two years for this and I am now very happy with my vehicle. It would seem likely that the computer 'learned' an extremely relaxed way of driving while the carpet was blocking kickdown, for about 4000 miles, and never recovered. All praise to the OPC technician!
If anyone else feels lacklustre response, I strongly recommend getting it reset!

Any idea how this was done?

No idea, I am afraid. I tried the fix mentioned above but it made no apparent difference. Perhaps worth asking for a reset when you have your first service next year. That said, I have had three Macans now and all of them needed about 10,000 miles before there was agile performance and a satisfying exhaust sound.
