Spilt fuel pipe.

Changed the fuel filter today, as the Hayes manuel tell you 2 clamp the fuel line shut with some theeht less grips, which I was stocked at ( and told everyone at home how it will probley split the pipe) but stupidly did it anyway as I didn't fancy fuel in my eyes. Well this has spilt the pipe and after get the filter off and a new one on, covering my face in fuel anyway! []

It's split near the metal feral? Or what ever the things called so I can't even sleeve it. I got 944 S 1988 and this is 1988 turbo so I maybe able 2 get the pipe from that. Only thing is the battery is flat on 944S and won't be able 2 depressive the system.

Anyone know how the 1st pipe from the fuel tank 2 the filter is fixed? And how 2 replace. Could I cut both pipes from each car join the pipes in the middle, this leaving the 1st bit off pipe still attached 2 the fuel tank?

Thanks terry

I have cut a corroded section of pipe out and replaced it with hose for now, i will change it for new lines eventually.

Shouldn't have a problem with sleeving the 2 sections - its only gravity pressure so no fancy fittings required I believe.

It's the fuel pump 2 filter hose. Needs dropping the fuel tank straps and removing from the banjo bolt at the fuel pump. Will try and replace with a new hose. Will try source one tmw.

Thanks

So Iv rang around this moring no one seems 2 have one on stock. Phoned Opc there's none in uk or Germany. Could be weeks b4 i could get a new one. I will have 2 see the condition off my other one. But im thinking off cutting it, let the fuel run out. ( make it easyer 2 remove without spliting it as the pipe trys 2 twist. Remove both ends, filter and pump. Cut spilt one on turbo leaving the pump end attached, join other end if good. Then Iv got 2 ends 2 get a new one made up. Maybe pritek or somewhere? Got a rally design quite. Close, wonder if I could get a braied one made up?

length of hose - http://bit.ly/MjQ3YB
a banjo bolt - http://bit.ly/LXbvEH
a hose tail fitting - http://bit.ly/MHzMcR

and make your own replacement?
I'm not sure of hose/connector sizes so you would have to find these out first. All in it doesn't look like it will come to much more than £10

Make sure you get the SAEJ30 R9 hose though, anything less isnt up to handling modern fuels. Probably including the hose thats on your car at the moment.

Fantastic, will that be the right tread 4 the fuel filter? Looks push fit and clamped. Only issur I can think off is the pipe will need 2 be fixed 2 fuel filter 1st then pump as it won't swivel around the pipe?

both the banjo and the hose tail are push fit onto the hose and will need a couple of hose clamps like this - http://bit.ly/NVEpmw

Like I said before, I'm not sure of the exact sizes you will need. You will need to measure the hose internal diameter, which I think will be 8mm or 10mm. You'll also need to know the thread size of the banjo and hose tail. I would guess at somewhere around m12, but you might be better taking off the old pipe and just going into your local hardware store and kindly ask if you/they can measure it by seeing which metric bolts screw into each end.

Good luck!

The part is currently unavabile. Porsche are not supplying this pipe/hose at the mo, at least not in the next 3 months
