That was 10 years or so ago, all good still.
They can break if you 'zero' the miles with the car on the move.
I know some who have had work done there last year, so still in business!

The failure of the internal plastic gears has little or nothing to do with resetting the odometer.
I have repaired hundres of these speedos now, the gears were lubricated with petroleum grease in the factory, which is incompatible with the plastic type used.
The result is that they disintegrate into a rubber-like state and eventually crumble and break apart. This will happen with all these speedometers.
Pressing the mechanical reset button might put a little strain on the gears, but the digit rollers are mechanically disconnected from the motor/drive gears when you do.
If the gears are so bad that they fail because of this action, it is only a matter time before they fail anyway.
