Hi There.

This is my first time on the PCGB forum. I am hoping to track down a rather special car, in terms of physical car and emotionally special. my father owned a 930 Turbo in Metallic Zinc / black fusch rims / dark blue or black leather from memory / sunroof. The car might still have some enormous Kenwood speaker grills in the front and the rear as he was into his hi-fi in the day. i believe the car might have been originally registered in the early 80's but i'm not 100% sure.

The engine was completely rebuilt and bored out to 3.5Ltrs and a bigger turbo was added, I believe the exhaust was re-routed by Camtune in Surrey in 86/87 or around that time. i have asked what is now Camtune in Byfleet if they remember the car, they do, but they dont know where it is. The last time that they heard of it, it was in Northern Ireland. the car was running around on reg 210 RKR the last time i saw it, but i believe the registration has since been sold.

the last time i saw the car myself was at the festival of speed where it was for sale via an independant dealer displaying it at the grounds, i cant recall the name of the garage.

i am trying to track it down to see if it's for sale as i'd love to own a bit of history and a very special car to me.

i look forward to hearing from anyone that might know of it or it's whereabouts.

thanks and best regards,

Matt

There was a 3.5 modified 930 for sale about 10 years ago ( quite possibly in Porsche Post), described as Silver. I'm pretty sure that it was in the North East, and had something to do with Gantspeed.
Only reason I remember it is because the 3.5 conversion was unusual.. and expensive.
Good luck.
