987.2 Boxster, bog standard. 2009.
Used only for runs locally, runs to Scotland, and every 2 years Euro tours, 3 to 5 K miles a year.
No track days, no 4 wheel drifting and all that, just a cruiser, so looking to change he tyres soon. Front and rear.
Sizes are Fr 19 x 235 x 35 Y N spec, Rr 19 x 265 x 35 Y N spec.

I am considering Conti or Mich tyres.

Questions:
I want an A rating for wet weather, and lowest noise possible, both seem to be 71dB and A for wet grip.

Not sure about N spec, the Porsche 'special'. Do you really need an N spec?

Real life thoughts please.
Thanks, Graham.

I'm on that page too!
Thank you for your reply, all helps.
Never been sure about the tyres fitted having the N rating.

Fronts are 10 years old and less than 1/2 way down...
Must drive harder.

Blimey, if they're 10 years old and not cracked you've done well.

N-rating is nice, as I know it means Porsche have evaluated them for a particular model, but let's be honest the standard Michelin isn't exactly going to be a duff tyre. PS4Ss are wonderful road tyres that you can use all year round. I've run them on my GT4's spare wheels (N-rated) and we've had them on my wife's Focus RS (standard spec) for many years. We've just switched to the new PS5s on the Focus as they're a slightly more road biased tyre, but I checked before I posted and they're not available in your required sizes yet.

Yes, fronts are all good, Bridgestones and clean.

The rears are also same Bridgestone, wider of course and only about 2mm down but drone and drone between 40 and 60 mph, just the range I seem to do most driving in the car.
Getting the bravery to ditch the set for something totally different and hopefully no droning..

In my experince we had Bridgestones on Tracys 987 when she had one .
They were one of the hardest tyre brands experienced getting harder with age.

Fronts are very hard, age I guess.
I think they were 'old' when fitted new, should have checked!

For a tyre with a wear rating of 140 they really are hard to the finger nail test.

I run PS4S on my GT4, far better road tyre than the Cups, grippy in the wet and harder wearing. If you’re a road driver, I don’t think you can go wrong with them.
