Software Upgrade

Hi,
Anyone on here with the latest model Cayenne (E3II) had the latest software upgrade? I took my Cayenne S into my OPC due to a warning light and they asked to keep the car for two days as there is a software upgrade called Campaign WRX1. This updates every system of the car and when I collected it, I found a new owners manual in the car. It sounds like a very comprehensive update and I wondered why a car less than a year old needs such a major update?
I have not driven the car since collecting it and it will be interesting to see any changes to the vehicle functionality.
