Simply Porsche @ Beaulieu, who is going?

ORIGINAL: GlennS So who is going down to Beualieu on the 22nd? I'd like to know which 944s to look out for! http://www.beaulieu.co.uk/beaulieu-events/club-rally/simply-sports Should be an excellent event (it was good last year) and if you turn up in a Porsche you get into all the National Motor Museum attractions at reduced cost. If anyone is heading down from London and points North, there will be a group of us leaving Fleet Services South/West bound at 9am.

Hi Glenn, I am packing the whole family in and we are looking forward to it...except at 6ft 3 I am going to be a bit squashed with kids in the back! Black 1986 944 Lux - bog standard, no mods, but very tidy! Steve B

Hi Glenn, I will hopefully (almost definitely) convoy down with you guys...I'm eventually on the mend. Looking forward to this day out - always bulked at the price when with all the family! Happy days!

I hope you don't have too long a run, Steve, otherwise there might be some additional moaning from the back to accompany the traditional 944 gearbox whine ;) Look forward to seeing you and the car.
 
I wanted to be around for this one, was even asked if I would do a book signing at this event, but I am flying out of the country :eek:) I think Pete (ExSkyline) should get in his car and make the trip from Brighton and get his blooming car a stretch of its legs! Blooming fed up I am missing this after not making it to the "hoon in joon" as well... hope you all have a great time there!
 
All being well, I intend to go to this one Jon' [:)]. I was kinda hoping you would be there too but, then I remembered the holiday in Turkey [8|]! I know which one I would rather be doing and, It doesn't include Porsche's! [;)][:D]. Have a great holiday mate!
 
We're driving down from London on Saturday, staying at Beaulieu Hotel overnight then event on Sunday. So I should finally make it to an event this year!

We'll be doing the same Amanda, aiming to get to Rownhams services for about nine [:)]. Taking Sarah and the kids this time. It'll bee the first time we have all been out in Him as a family [8D]!!
 
Well that was excellent. A little convoy of 12 cars (7 x 944 and 5 x 911) left Fleet services for the trundle down a fairly busy M3 to Rownhams were we picked up Pete and Amanda getting us up to 14. By the time we reached Beaulieu we'd gained an extra car courtesy of a Guards Red 924 who, much to his surprise, found himself surrounded by 944s as the convoy merged onto the A326 all around him. I don't think he minded, there was a pretty big grin on his face! We arrived on schedule at 10:15 to find the grounds of the National Motor Museum already overflowing with Porsches. "We're running out of space!" said the bloke on the gate tasked with telling us where to park. By 11am "over 400 Porsches" had arrived and they were still coming. A great show, superb weather and a top venue. Every flavour of Porsche was parked up with some really nice examples to drool over.
 
We had a fantastic day out Glenn [8D]!! Although, I wanted to strangle the kids at times [:mad:]!! Lovely weather too and,a fantastic site of so many Porsches in one place [8D][:D]!
