It is planned that there will be a display area for the Classic early Porsche cars near the Stowe Corner building over the three days of this years Silverstone Festival. This will of course include the Early 911 models,
I have been asked to let the Clubs organisers know how many places would be needed for the Early 911 Register. I have suggested a number but it would make life easier if we had a better idea of the number for each day.
If you have booked your 'display your Car' ticket you should have recently received your windscreen pass.
Could you email me on 911@porscheclubgb.com or text to 07580194789 and let me know on what days you plan to be there?
Not long now, See you there, Robin.

Hi Robin we have 2 Porsches going down to Silverstone, 1 is 993 turbo with a gt2 body kit and the second is a 996tt. We already have the infield passes for the 3days but we will not be arriving till after midday on the Friday so too late to park up Infield. We will be parking there on the Saturday morning till the Sunday evening. My question is that I have read on another site that you have to register to do the parade lap on the Saturday, just wondering if you know anything about this. Thanks Derek

I, like everyone is waiting to hear of the final arrangements for the PCGB area 27 but I do advise members coming to get their accommodation, be it Camping or hotel or whatever, done first before you come to the PCGB location at Stowe Corner.
I do not believe that if you arrive at lunchtime, you will be the only participant to do so. Don't they know who we are?
More info as and when it becomes available.

Tickets are crazy expensive this year so I’ve volunteered to help out on Friday and Saturday…

We are taking the 911 there on the Friday, but the costs are really too much.
Went last year and got drowned, but the event was a bit dull. Said we would not go again due to cost, but my display ticket arrived 2 days ago....
Miss only 2 in the last 30 or so years.
I'll bring the sun this time, ok?

Donington Historic is even cheaper

Problem with Silverstone is that is a family fun fair these days and all those pop starts want paying,,

The event has lost its way

I just got my parking pass and surprised to see we are back to inside of Stowe 🤔 I remember reading in PPost that people where unhappy there so parking was going back to Brooklands.

We have done the SPA Endurance 6 hours several times, and it is a FAR better event.
More expensive overall mind, but really good.
This one is make or break for us at Silverstone.

I think the impact of the new karting track has had quite a knock on to the overall layout of the event, quite a chunk of the space has been lost in and around Brooklands and Luffield which means that quite a lot has had to shuffled over the bridge.

Yes, we were back in the Brooklands area in 2024 but looks like we are now back down in Stowe area again for 2025. Having attended in 2023 in the Stowe area I and many others felt that we were not displaying our cars and the Club at its best. Very few people visit this area since none of the buses which provided transport to and from areas of interest visit or even go near Stowe. Furthermore, we have experienced little or no catering down in this area. Previously due to the long distance to all other areas (the new and old pits, the shopping village etc etc) Golf buggies were deployed to ferry members around the circuit. Have the Golf Buggies been arranged for this year?

We have to enter at Gate 3 on Dadford Road which is diametrically opposite to our display area so a long drive around the perimeter and over the Hanger Straight bridge. Enter by 0900 (instructions) or 10.00 (on windscreen access permit) and leave after 17.30 seems restrictive compared to previous years if this is enforced. I think I may park in public car park to have freedom to move when I choose.

I seem to remember that in 2023 the car parking at Stowe was on cinder ash full of rusty nails…
The site had poor access and was well away from the other car clubs and activities so the public did not visit to view the cars. The club and members put a great deal of effort in to display the cars and with infrastructure for little reward.
Seems like being the largest club means you end up with the worst parking and siting which is irksome when you consider how much income this generates for Silverstone over 3 days At £75/100 a car.
Disappointing also as I am taking a guest.
Will see how it goes this year as to whether to drop it in future. I wonder if it is losing the car focus with the move towards the ‘Festival’ element not to mention the ticket prices. OK for the club early bird rate but I notice that the general admission tickets are £100.

We missed the '23 event due to holiday clash, so Stowe will be our first time there.
I think you are correct, the biggest car club showing and pushed off to the corner to accommodate us all.

If the Club set a limit to the numbers interest would diminish quickly I think, could be wrong.

Not sure all this is going to work for us on Friday.

So...
thinking seriously about not going to the Porsche stand/parking etc, and take the Skoda to the public parking instead.
Anyone guess if the tickets we have will be ok for 'public' use for entry?
