My brakes are now fixed and i'm rolling again. A spot of engine work at the good Mr. Prill's and then - fingers crossed - i'm all set for the new season. Engine in and running permitted I'm planning a run to Silverstone from London on ThursdayApril 15th to watch an afternoon's F1 practice... Anyone interested?

What's the full monty on the F1 practice? Is it a general open to jo public day and what are the running times going to be ..Rob

Formula 1 test days are usually free (... I've never been charged yet) just turn up, pick a granstand seat and enjoy. Viewing is usually limited to Woodcote and the Pit Straight. Bring a pair of binoculars to spy in on the garages! I was planning to get there for about 2pm with a run up from London in the '12... if enough people are interested then I can dig out a good pub and inn guide and maybe find a place for lunch to meet.

I'm away for a week later today, so don't expect any replies for a while, but I'll check late on bank holiday monday and dig out my road atlas if I have enough interest.

I went last year and it was a great day once we went into a stand (luffield) out of the rain[:D]
There were 6 cars 3 teams, mclaren, jordan and toyota, ferrari were there the day before we went apparently
I went with a load of titanic 944 / 964 / 993 boys and girls.
We met up at the little chef for brekkies first.
Id be up for this again

Hi Elliot, after our quick chat at the AGM last week I have just organised another Titanic date on Wednesday 2nd June. This is the last practice before the GP itself on July 9-11 so ALL the cars should be there. I'll be sending out an email to the Titanicers this afternoon. See the diary for early attendees:

There are about 4 tests in total between now and then, but I wated to plump for the one that should have most cars (instead of last years dismal Williams and BAR showing) All the dates are in the Race Calender at www.silverstone-circuit.co.uk

Mark, surely if we want to organise a little 912 outing thats ok isn't it? We don't mind if everyone else comes along, but why oh why do we have to move our posts?

Sorry,

Didn't realise it was aimed at 912's, but with others invited. More than half the replies so far are from non-912 people.

I just thought if it was open to all, then hiding it in the friendly 912 area may not reach all you might.

It seems such a good idea for an event . I'd hate to be the member with a 914 that reads about it afterwards...

OOps and I'm sorry I stuck my post in there (I'd looked in the 'Todays Posts' and didn't realise I was in 912 [:D] )

Feel free to delete my bit if its in the way [:)]

Thanks for that Paul, titanic diary ammended [;)]

This week it's Jordan only :(
I imagine it might involve a lot of waiting if only one team is testing?

next testing is the 27th - 29th April, maybe some more teams then.
