Hi All,

Just a reminder about the Silverstone Classic 25th Anniversary special.

I'm hoping to finalise cars soon. If you've already contacted me then don't worry, you're on the list. The good news is that we can have an extra 5 cars per day, so if you're interested please e-mail me or call and I'll add you to the list.

To recap, displaying your car gives you free entry plus the opportunity to participate in the parade laps. 27th, 28th and 29th July.

I would particularly like a gold car for the three days. As someone pointed out that the red, white and blue display at Eynsham discriminated against owners of black cars, I'd like to do a black, gold and red trio......of course this still means a red car takes pride of place. :p

Hi Paul,

Either your forum staus needs updating or you won't qualify....let me know if the ex-member bit is not correct.

Just to add, this is a Porsche Club event and the freebies are only open to Club members! [8D]

I wonder who that might have been.

Hi Paul,
Could you please sign me up if there's any space left - will be coming in a Sapphire Metallic 944 Lux and it will shine - getting a re-spray in 2 weeks from now..[:)]

Sorted.

If you're re-spraying her, why not go for a coat of refreshing Guards Red? [8|]

Hi, been a long time since i last logged into the forum, and just noticed this. Well i have already paid for my entry, but wondered if i might be able to participate in a parade lap? Titanium metallic S2, so not really red, white or blue, but a decent colour all the same?!

Great, there is no way the body work on my car is going to be fully sorted by then so I would rather see some of the nicer looking examples on the stands and parade laps etc. (not really bothered about parade laps personally) then my own "creation". I will still almost certainly be there to say hello.

BTW afaik silverstone classic race weekend has never and will never be a Porsche club gb event (thank god) so it is not surprising how much confusion there has been recently over this summers events.

I kinda like the Sapphire..to change colour would mean to strip the car all the way and i'm afraid it can't be done within 4-5 weeks..the plan was to take all the rubbers and stuff off yesterday or today to get it in garage and start preping but it's been pissing down for 2 days now..hope for sunshine tomorrow..

I'm looking forward to taking my car there (already contacted you Paul). So much so that it's going to be properly polished for the event. I'll just have to hope that it doesn't get covered in mud on the drive down from Lytham!

See you all there.

Someone's trying to play with my nerves..the bloke who's spraying my car..he just told me that he might not have enough time to finish the job on time..so i rushed over to check things out..well he'll be priming it tomorrow..[:D]

Not sure if i used the club Ref number or not ???

Got you down for all three days, Steve! [:)]

Must try to plan some things to amuse us on the register display, sensible suggestions only please......[8|]

I should be down for all three days too. Assuming my car's ready I can be there fairly early each morning, so if I can be of any help with parking or similar then please give me a shout as it's about time I mucked in [:)].

Wonder if we are allowed a small portable BBQ and some chairs and tables? [&:]

Has anyone thought about camping over at Wittlebury Hall, a short walk behind the start/finish grandstands? I know it's more expensive than the fields we are used to at Eynsham/ Highclere/ Bramham but the overnight social is one of the best bits of the major events of the year.

Am there for all three days - Have taken the finest room the Holiday Inn Express on the M1 has to offer, so will be able to get there early/stay late each day. Happy to help out if required.
