Should i drive him to the "Ring".....?

Like everyone has said jsut do the normal checks oil, tyres lights etc make sure you have the necessary European requirements like spare bulbs, triangle, hi vis jackets and headlight direction changer take spare oil and make sure you have a spare tyre or tyre weld and compressor and give it a go. If you arrange decent breakdown cover I don't see the problem, took my S2 to Silverstone last year down and back with an overnight stop for the MotoGP then soon as I was back straight to the Lake District, two days later back home for my Daughter to have an exam then same day back to the Lakes all in all 1100 miles in 5 days.

The answer is simple; take as many tools as possible. They work as talismen and ward off breakdowns. (If you don't have any you can be assured you will breakdown.)

Oli.

Well, that's my wrist slapped good and proper! I shall defo be taking him now [8D]. As Darryl said, i think my fears were based on the fact that he is an old car (24 years) and, has got 181k miles under his belt. That's it really. Iv'e only done about 500 miles in him in eighteen months so i haven't really got a feel for him yet or his characteristics. However, that is all going to change very soon when i collect him from Mr Mitchell's place. Thank you all for your positive and encouraging comments. I feel much more positive about him already and i will certainly be driving him to the "Ring" in May [8D][:D]
