Shock Absorbers

Has anyone ever changed the rear shock absorbers on a 1989 930? From looking at the car it seems like a simple operation but like most things looks can be deceptive.
Or is this one of those jobs left to someone else?
 
Hi - I did them on my 930 3.0 (1975) in 2012 and it was a delightfully easy job, undo the bottom nut and top nuts in engine bay and out it came. Even with a bit of cleaning where they sat and an application of grease to prevent future seizing the job only took 20 mins each side.

The change to the cars handling was excellent and I now have 934 shocks front and rear. Spring rates I have kept the same but much more damping on corners and far less squat at the rear under acceleration.

Soak everything in a light oil the day before you intend to do the job.

Yes have to remove a few bits, air filter box etc, also get some clean old cloths to plug the areas where you take items off the car for the job at hand.
You do not want things falling into them maybe without you knowing it?
I also replaced, the engine soundmat at the same time as access is good.
Its often a part that is overlooked by many owners.
When I searching for a 930, everyone I saw needed replacing on them.

I did mine a few years ago all around.
