Anyone tried Shell's new rocket fuel yet and noticed an improvement over Optimax ?

There's always the placebo effect to consider.[;)]

Very true.

I have used Optimax exclusively for the past year so any difference will be immediately apparent to me. My old M3 was very sensitive to fuel and you could easily tell the difference between 97 & 98 RON fuels in that.

I've used Optimax most of the time in my 997S over 11,500 miles and there seems to be no discernable difference with V Power.

I'm on my third tank now, and although I've done some different types of driving than my usual commute, I've noticed a substantial improvement in fuel consumption recently - maybe 20% better than normal - and I'm putting at least 5% of that down to V-power.

Performance hasn't really been affected - still awesome !

Yes, I was thinking that. I'm on my 2nd tank now and it's very difficult distinguishing between awesome and awesome+1RON

Haven't noticed any MPG changes yet myself though ...

Interesting comments on the improved fuel consumption. The BMW Boys over at BM3W are reporting the same thing in their E60 M5's. They are also reporting nicely improved performance which can only be down to the F1 state of the art ionic knock control the M5 has. Wonder when Porsche will catch up on this ?

Now on my second tankful of V Power and sadly, the only difference I can feel is the extra 1p per litre at the pump !

Boo Hoo.
