Series II Wishbone Bush (not the castor mount)

My car has failed its MOT on one wishbone bush, which doesnt appear to be a separately available from Porsche.

I realise that they seldom fail, but I had a serious oil leak and this has degraded the rubber. Anyway, can anyone suggest either a supplier of a suitable single bush (for a Turbo, so may be a higher Shore) OR a pair of economically priced bushes in any sort of engineering plastic?

Hi Simon

Are we talking about a bush ( i thought all bushes were available as separate items) or are we talking about the ball-joint. If ball joint there are a number of independents who refurb these, I think promax are one or alternatively I believe there is also a replacement after market ball-joint on the web, although Porsche themselves do not list a such a thing.

Guessing its the front inner one that mounts in the cross member?

I'd contact Bert, then the place you wouldn;t shop at.......[8|]

Spot on Marv, thank you. NLA from Porsche, but at that price I am tempted to go for something harder...

Type 911 actually a new site for me. Does anyone know if the rubbers for the ball joints are available seperately? My joints are fine but the rubber is not in great condition.

ORIGINAL: Frenchy

Talk to Hartech also.

Thnaks Jim, I think that I will have 968 caster mounts fitted at the same time, so will probably opt for Barry's alternative parts.

The bush ont he leading edge Pete, where the bush on the trailing edge is the castor mount. It used to be available but it appears that Porsche only offer a wishbone with a new bush fitted now, making it £450-odd for a bush!

Barry Hart supplies a new bush in his exchange arms too, but my ball joints are still all good.
