PCGB Region 13 Hereford, Worcester & Shropshire
Region 13 Report for September 2012
Joan and I went to Calke Abbey, along with many various members. A super fine day and we had a good look around the strange house. I have to say in compliment, that the staff are the most attentive group of people I have ever met at an event or showplace, towards the "˜disabled'. So if you are thinking of visiting and have difficulties getting about, do not be afraid to go.
That is, in particular, if you like loads and loads of stuffed birds and collections of rocks, stones and shells. I understand they were a very strange family. They did not have a Woolly Mammoth's tooth, though !
For our meeting this month, we were invited to Cotswold Porsche Specialists, a new business, I believe started this year by members Lee and Lynsey Jones... They are providing good quality used and new parts, in limited types at the moment but I am sure they will grow. Don't be afraid to ask them, if you need anything. They have contacts.
A nice small unit at Toddington, some six miles due south of Evesham on the A438. Well stocked out and they gave us a very pleasant evening, with tea, coffee and sandwiches etc. For which on everyone's behalf, I thank them.
We wish them all the best in their new venture. Lynsey is in charge and knows her business.
This bit is for those who read my Report on the forum as it refers to a trip in October. A visit to OPC Bristol. Please see R13 Forum for more details.
Gwyn Fennell is back with us on the 30th Oct., to tell us more tyre tales, this by popular demand.
If you wish to erase any rubber problems you have, be sure to come along to the Chateau as usual.
Tuesday 29th November, we shall be wallowing in the Rio Grande with Andy Nevitt, our "˜Canoeist Spectacular'. I am sure he will paddle us through a great adventure.
That will bring us to Christmas. Last Tuesday is the day after Boxing Day. I did say, "No meeting", but there has been some interest in "˜just a beer and chat' social. So, Joan and I will pop into the Chateau Bar on that evening. Let me know if you wish to join us.
New Year Events.
29th January.........What about all joining up for a Carvery ? Good value at the Chat.Let me know.
26th February.......Skittles and Dinner.
26th March...........Manuel "˜Flies around the World'.
April ....A trip to Crich Tramway Museum. A weekday thing.
May.....Curborough.
John.................................Printed on R13 Forum as well.
