Selling the S2

After a lot of thought I may be selling my S2, the plan is to buy a cheaper track car with my good friend as he is a little nervous driving mine in case the worst happens.
Unfortunately he cannot afford to put half the cost into the S2.

So.....what's it worth?
I paid 6k for the car and £500 on inspection and major service from RPM
Then fitted:
Full janspeed exhaust
Cone filter
Promax chip
New bonnet
Both wings and bonnet painted.
2 x new rear t1r's fitted last week

Any thoughts on pricing would be great.

I was going to type how you wont get 6,000 for just about any S2 in the current climate no matter how nice it is which is true
BUT Isn't this the ' track/road car' that I was very tempted by that RPM sold a month or two ago ? .

If it is then you need to mention the spec for someone to value that car correctly , KW3 , LSD and MO30 put it in a totally different price bracket to the average S2 and you havn't mentioned any of them in your post above. Unless someone knows the car ( which many of us do that's true) they can't value it properly [;)]

If i hadn't just bought my turbo back I would buy that car and i'm not just saying 'would' I actually would.
Only the high price that RPM were originally asking stopped me.

Sorry to hear you want to sell, and so soon? Seems a shame. Re value, its a specialist area I suppose, a track prepped car. Trouble is it will probably only appeal to a limited market and as a track day car its everyday usability has been somewhat compromised (stripped interior, etc). Although its very good value considering the spec list (If someone wanted to do similar). I still think your looking at the £6k mark as that was also essentially a dealer price, if you hold out for the right buyer you might get lucky but there are ALOT of cheap S2's out there at present so you could be waiting sometime for maximum money....

Im not surprised ! , totally understand Ed's point but there were so e very expensive extras on that car very tasty indeed.

I hope the new owner brings it out down South so I get to see it in the flesh some day.

I know, really quick!
All I can say is the guy has a matching guards red with black wheels 964.[;)]

If its who I think it is he had a Guards red S2 before that too, gotta love a red Porsche with black wheels, happy days!

Well, the chap pulled out unfortunatly.

Got an email on thursday as he had a change of heart, I think if he'd come to see the car he would have taken it too.
Not sure what to do now, keep her or put her up for sale?

I was going to buy another road car this weekend ('04 645ci) then get another track car sorted in spring.

Thanks Edd, I have this illness however.....pistonheads classifieds! I spend so much time researching my next car at which point I MUST go and buy one [:D]

Well tomorrow the car is going back to RPM to be replaced by this http://www.rpmtechnik.co.uk/sales/stock-list/boxster-2-7-superb-spec-nav-bose-19s/

A nice sensible car for a while, another track toy will be found in spring. Can't fault RPM they are fantastic to deal with!

I will miss the 944 which is strange for me....
