Selling my 968

Hi all, or more likely, few! I am going to sell my car in a couple of weeks, if you know anyone who wants one? I’m doing a loop to Kent, Southampton and Wales this week from up north! Just serviced and mot done today, belts and full brakes done 2 years ago, 968 sport, black/ black. 163,000 miles, used but not abused. Full history, I’ve had it 9 years! Thank you, Rob

Good luck Rob - looking at 968's for sale on eBay it seems to me that the market is rather quiet ATM, so you may struggle to find anyone interested! Made me reconsider parting with my cab this year!

Looking to buy some carpet mats for my 968 in light grey.. any recommendations? Also, planning on replacing the hood if anyone has done so in the past with one of these? Based in the Midlands.

not sure where you best buy for matts is these days, mine are not too bad fit and they were from Porsche Shop, but they come with no holes for the lock down fittings, I had to cut those out and fit some from ebay, luckily the fixings in the car also fitted the matt fixings I got from the bay of fleas,

I used these, just the part that goes in the matt, not the other half with the spike, they fit the original Porsche twist and lock matt holders, you just need to cut a hole in your new matts...................................

I know another owner that has just had a roof done, I can find out who did it and how much, I have seen the end result and it looks pretty good,

Got the car mats from 'ultimate car mats' - seem good quality, though haven't fit them yet so will reserve judgement!

How is the 968 sale going Rob? Had mine on the market over the summer but didn't get any bites - now my sister is using it as a wedding car so for the best really.

I always wonder why folks buy classic cars and then chop them in for more mod cons and electronics, the whole point of a classic is to get away from all that

Had it for best part of 6 years now..

Haven’t got a proper garage anymore with tools etc. so a more modern Porsche is more suitable!

I sold mine with a view to getting a gen 2 cayman.... but they are now having the bore score problems! Keep the 968.... wish I had

I also miss my 968's - both the coupe and the cab, they're fantastic drivers cars, the coupe is remarkably capable as a daily driver and the cab was loads of fun in summer. Having looked closely at Caymans, i'd say the 968 coupe is a far more practical car - I don't think you could do a supermarket run in a Cayman, let alone a camping trip to Le Mans, both of which we did in our coupe.
