Searching for parts (as rare as rocking horse s#*t)

Now I have a rough idea of how much my car might be worth (and medication has controlled the ensuing heart palpitations), I thought i would do all those little jobs I haven't cared about because, after all, it was just a little track day toy and certainly not a Garage Queen. Not aiming at Queen status, but hopefully somewhere between Duchess and Princess[:D]

Fortunately, the car is still a "matching numbers", original panels car with almost every part. I am finishing off getting the interior spot on and there is one thing missing - no Des, not cup holders....

I am missing the covers that go over the seatbelt inertia reel. As everybody knows, these have been unavailable for years but there were rumours of reproduction runs being done. Did anything ever happen?

If not, does anybody know of any that might be for sale or got any ideas?

it will be a real shame if I cannot source them because except for that, the car is absolutely spot on as can be seen here.

Good grief! Hallo mate!

Can't help on the covers, breakers possibly as also a 964 item?

Car's looking good!

I guess there are other hazards in Oz apart from pliers to worry about....[;)]

Hey Mel
Not many pliers to worry about. 2 big problems - poor road quality and Police/speed cameras (hidden speed cameras are allowed). Everybody drives as if they are auditioning for "Driving Miss Daisy" and nobody speeds.

The RS isn't exactly the ideal mode of transport. For instance, i am unlikely to drive it at all this week with temperatures of between 34 and 40 degrees! No aircon has its disadvantages.

The car itself is still a true pleasure and I have been lucky to find a top class garage to look after her (PR Technology). They are one of the best Porsche specialists anywhere in the world, mixing looking after road cars with a very good race division. The car has never been better.

From what i hear the "scene" in the UK is becoming smaller as the values go crazy. Pleased to see some of the old crew are still active and have cars. In fact, reading over the last year's worth of posts I think I recognise just about every name on here.

As for my part, it was an RS only thing and, i suspect, there were very few spares ever made, because why would anybody want one.

Simon the part you refer to comes in both RHD and LHD variants, the LHD part is finely thinner plastic with a special lightweight female horse glue. The RHD part is standard Carrera2/4 available from the special Kackehander Werkes by postal order in the sum of DM57 for the right hand side and DM56 for passenger side. Posted to:
