With all of that off roading, do you think that might have been the catalyst for Porsche top develop the Cayenne? [:D]
 
A lot of these Cups were regularly straightened out between two trucks in opposite directions, alas they were considered surplus and undesirable in 93 and many went to the scrap yard some survived intact and a few converted to Road going client build requirements such as the Alzen Maritime Blue car .....
 
There seem to be a minimum of 3 cars that claim to be any known cup car,,,how many cars did Hakkinen drive that day?! [:)]
 
These teams carried at least one reserve car or indeed fielded two cars with a back up. Depending on how the driver was doing at any stage team boss would send out in the most competitive survivor, so not surprising that in any one season there may be up to 3 cars driven to a single championship ... For instance Alzen won the 91 championship in at least two Maritime Cars, one of which is at GT Classics ....[:D]
 
Interesting Des.....do GT classics have any famous blue cup cars for sale....or are they for a special vip client list?? [:D]
 
I believe the one at GT Classics (yellow) is an original Cup Car delivered to Alzen Motorsport in Maritime Blue and took part in the winning championship of 91, may well be in the video above .... was then converted in 93 to a customer spec with Alzen TUV Chassis number .... do you know the car Clubmeister?

Having looked at the GTC website the car looks incredible......UweA would have made good use of the turbo engine and extra grip from the widebody stance, he may even have kept it on track?

Compared to other available cup cars, it appears to be an absolute steal!.....Especially when you consider the cars race history, the cars pedigree is so tangible, you can almost taste it...you could even market it as it's own flavour to Porsche cognoscenti!.

Someone should buy that before Ali d' Bonnet does. [;)]
 
I thought the yellow car had been sold recently to a German buyer? Back again with a price hike I see!
