Sealing arches from moisture

Hi Everyone,

Yet another question......apologies if it has been asked before......

I'm cleaning my arches and because the car is silver i want to keep the silver coluor when you look into the arch.
What is the best sealant to help protect the car from rust. Thankfully the car is totally dry at the minute and has no signs of rust at all, but i thought it would be a good time to seal everything up.

Is there a clear solution - i have tested Waxoyl and another sealant, but they turn a yellow colour which is not ideal. I guess i could coat the panel joins with the yellow stuff as it wont be visible, but i want the visual sections to be silver.....

p.s. I have painted the bumper bars which helps a lot - an easy job i highly recommend to all members on here.

I tried cavity wax which Porsche parts departments supply. However this also has a yellow tinge and like waxoyl stays sticky which means it attracts the dirt even more.

Not much of answer to your question but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Thats the best answer i've ever had online asjasj - thanks - it sounds perfect. Bilt Hamber do great stuff. didnt know their product range was so extensive. I know their clay bar is good - thats about it. Must invest in some other goodies too.

hmmm... sounds like a plan to me, this Dynax. I have the odd small patch of missing seal under the rear and seems this'll do the trick. Nice one.

Hi Adrian,

You would be able to see which side has been coated, the finish is a matt/satin, there is a very very mild yellow tint, not like other products.

Is it pretty much colourless once applied? I think the answer to that is Yes it is, pretty much.

Query on your UC coating......is it pretty much colourless once applied?

For example, if it was applied to half a clean, white painted panel - could you easily see which half had been coated? I know most 'clear' wax coatings tend to be very 'yellowy'.
