Scottish Run (Borders "Moffat) - 22nd, 23rd, 24th April 2022 - "Beartown Porkers"
- Thread starter laurenceedwards
- Start date
Hi guys,
I thought it would be easier to create a thread rather than via the Whats app. group as it will be a lot easier to share information and track responses.
OK, so following the initial canvassing on the app. there was some interest for October but as mentioned the runs ive been on to Scotland are generally more fun when their is a larger group (i think we've had 24 cars before).
They are open to drivers and their partners as they would involve arriving at our base camp in Moffat on Friday , having a run Saturday and overnighting prior to a drive home Sunday.
I will track the responses in the below format and would suggest that we limit >< 20 cars which will be allocated on a first come, first reserved basis. When we reach 20 bookings any overflow will go onto a Reserve List in case of any cancellations.
The event will take place all day on the Saturday, so for those travelling from far afield you may need to book accommodation for both Friday and Saturday nights. Please be aware that Moffat is a tourist town so once we have an idea on numbers we can approach some of the local hotels for a block booking as the hotels tend to get booked up quite quickly.
Dinner will be arranged on both nights for all attendees that require feeding!

Attendee Partner Friday Saturday
Hi guys,
I will periodically post updates on confirmed numbers etc. but will probably keep the list open until the end of the year to give any members yet to decide a chance to register an interest.
I will though need to close it early January in order to firm up our numbers with the hotel and restaurants.

A couple of restaurant suggestions.
I will look to book "Brodies" for the Friday evening meal (For any partners not wishing to go on the Saturday drive they also offer afternoon tea)

And the below Italian for Saturday evening. It looks a little like your granma's living room but the food is excellent.

Hi Roy,
Yes absolutely but only if you promise to wear that avatar outfit
Welcome to the fellowship…you on the list.
Simon
Yes I’m definitely on for the full weekend. My girlfriend will be in Cape Town that weekend so I’ll aim to recruit another navigator. All meals required
Hi borders clan !
Just a quick update on the attendees confirmed so far.
I will create a Whatsapp group next year to make coordination and communication amongst the group a little easier but conscious that I don't wish to spam everyone with another group at the moment.
I'm finalising the route which i'll share once ive confirmed the lunch stop and comfort break bookings
