Safety Devices Cage Picture Request

Im looking for pictures of 924/944 series one and 944 series 2/968 bolt in front cages, particularly where the A-post tube passes around the dashboard. If anyone can post a picture of their own then Id be extremely grateful.

Also: I wonder if anyone knows whether 'early dash' and late dash' cages utilish the same door bars?

I appreciate that Gerry, thank you. It is though, in fact, a weld-in cage; so its a little different from mine. I have a series two cage and Im trying to establish whether there is a fundamental difference between that and a front to suit an early car.

It was bought to fit into a late 944, but Im wanting to use it in a 924S now...

The only difference I am aware of between early 924/944 SD cages and oval dash cage is that the later has more dash clearance as needed with the deeper dash. The original square dash is shallower. You can still use an early cage in a later car but you'll need to cut into the 944 oval dash to fit. This isn't an issue for 924/924S.

As for the feet I thought all bolt in's went to the floor and the weld ins went onto the top of the sill.

No, I can confirm that mine has front feet which mount onto the sill-top, in a similar manner to that shown in the Riviera Blue car. Perhaps mine is of a later (or older) design? I can post the part/approval number if anyone is interested. Kev Eacock did make a point of showing me the sill-top mounting for SD bolt-in cages, in 2008; so I presume that this has changed since.

Thank you for the picture Steve.
