S2 seats in square dash

I thinking about fitting some S2 seats in my square dash. I'm assuming that with height adjustment the seat will go lower than the fixed height of what's in at present. So, a few questions....

1. Would S2 seats be a straight swap?
2. Can the electric height adjustment motors be wired up safely? What's needed re fuses, relays etc?
3. If the answer to 2 is yes, anyone know if I can get the drivers seat lower to the floor than the standard fixed seat in my square dash

Any tips from anyone who's done this would be appreciated

Cheers

They are a straight swap, yes. Series two seats carry the seat belt buckle and have two fixings per side at the rear, as opposed to series one cars single bolt. One of the two rear bolt holes is in the same place; but Id advise you to remove the seat belt buckle, as its addition was the reason for the additional fixings and Porsche didnt think that 2x M6 bolts was sufficient....

Wiring is straightforward and youll only need a fused hotwire and an earth to each seat. Which motors you have depends on the seats year the the options specified. Contrary to (now) common opinion on this forum, all series two cars didnt have electrically adjustable seats on both sides, either (from 1986MY an electric two switch drivers eat was standard and everything else was an option...). If you have three button all round then I think that theyre far more likely to have come from a 964 originally.

Just resurrecting this one, it's on my mind again as whilst loving my square dash right now, still feel a little 'perched' compared to the S2 seating position. Anyone one know if fitting S2 seats as above will lower the seating position, or is the difference in the S2 in the dash and steering wheel position?

If you do this i would be interested in your seats as i need a dark interior for a car i have 99% finished

cheers

Ok will let you know Elliot but I think it's unlikely I'll do it if the seat height's the same
