Doing a bit of browsing and found this

remember it being discussed here before when Johnny drove it

Seems a bit of a bargain if built properly

That's an interesting site that you've found there Tony, I've not seen it before. I did a little browsing and spotted this http://www.racecarsdirect.com/listing/42640/porsche_944_elite_projects_racing_car.html

Thought it may be of interest to the 944 race/track car guys out there although they probably already know about this kit..:)

The first one is Ben Demetriou's old car. I thought it had been sold personally. Best S2 currently for sale by a country mile is the orange one on the clubs motorsport site but its a lot of money. Best value overall IMHO was Kieran Brewers old car which ISTR sold for about £12K or so, again advertised on the clubs motorsport website. It was one of those if only I had known it was going to come up for sale jobs.

But what's the diference between the white one and the orange one, or indeed Kieran's old car? £3K is a big difference and there has to be a reason for it. Piers Masarati is selling his old 968 racer for £12K - £12K for a 968 racer or £12k for an S2......????

I am not familiar with Bens old S2, I don't believe it is an EMC car though, may have been built by Summit. Kierans old car had pretty much everything done on it, the engine rebuild alone cost as much as a decent 944 track/race car. ISTR it had something like £26K spent on its build. It was in short about as good an S2 race car as it is possible to build within PCGB rules. The orange car built for George Muteen took things to the next level, Kevin has claimed that car weighs in under a metric tonne for example and that is with factory glass work. Kevin knows all the details though.

The Masarati 968 suffered a very big impact at Thruxton the other year and has since been repaired. Has it been raced since?

It wont be an EMC car, Im sure. I mentioned BDs name to KE once and he nearly choked on his cup of tea... I get the impression that the latter doesnt hold the former in high regard.

He certainly holds him in high regard as a driver, Alex once said to me Ben would be fast in a car with 3 wheels. I just don't think that car was built by them as they didn't built his 968 even though it had GAZ and an SD cage (968 was built by Summit racing apparently).

Or there is this one:

Don't know BD at all, although i recognise the name, and I think he's now racing a Hartech Boxster in PCGB. At the end of the day, at my (low) clubman level (talent and budget) it might just be a car that I could drive and enjoy. I'm probably not good enough to notice the difference!!! And it is supposed to be a Championship winning car, so can't be that bad.....unless all the good bits have been stripped off it, but thats a risk with any race car it seems to me.
