S2 needed

Hi all,

I need an S2 coupe for a tv show. Only a small role, but it'll be interesting to do.

Will be a day out, filming will be M4 area between Slough and Reading. The only stipulation is that it can't be a white car, otherwise I'd have been onto Scotty already! [&:]

If you're interested,, and can take a day out over the next week or two, give me a call as soon as possible,

Thanks

Paul,

I can make mine available but guess someone nearer would be better and maybe someone with a more standard car?

Have you checked with Mac and Sue on their Display Register thread?

PM sent! [:)]

Not sure how many people have actually joined it yet, though, as it's fairly new.

Pete - nearer would be better, there's no fee for it! How far off-standard is yours to look at?

We only have two S2's on the Register so far. Where are the rest ?
One in Suffolk, and the other in County Durham. I can forward numbers if you wish, but it may be too far.
Now if you had wanted a S2 Cabriolet.........................!

Sue

Looks like we're sorted, thanks for all the replies! [:)]

It is frustrating when you've got the perfect car, located right where they are filming, but it's the wrong colour. That's why the Display Register is such a great idea. I can pull details of a specific variation of a 944, as I did with 1982 cars for the 25th Anniversary. Or, search by area, colour, interior fabric, wheel type, loads of things. What it doesn't tell me is whether the owner is up for a day out, and a bit of fun. That's where putting your details on the Display Register would enable us to easily find a keen owner.

Thanks for that Paul.

Come on 944 owners where are you ?

It's easy to sign up, and interestingly those who offered to help were not on the Register.

Your Club needs you.

Sue

How do you put your details on the display register, Paul? And is it only open to members? (To my shame, I still haven't stumped up the membership fee for PCGB!)

Yep, it's a member thing. We always need cars for shows, TV and magazine features, events etc. It's nearly always the same few cars that get used, as there's not been an easy way of finding exactly what we need, and an owner who wants to help.

Sorry, but there are still a few areas of the Club that we like to keep member-exclusive. Discounts on clutch kits is another one.......[;)][;)][;)]

I hadn't asked, did I miss something? [8|]

On that note, by far the cheapest supplier (www.frazerpart.com) was around between 10 and 18% cheaper on every item on a long shopping list ... cheaper than both ECP and the club supplier (sorry B). Oh, and the service was excellent as well.

Only me winding you up...[;)]

It's good to see new parts suppliers joining the market. Assuming they are actually supplying like-for-like then great.

Let's not forget the valuable additional service that Bert offers, in that you can call him and he'll help you with technical advice as well as sell you the parts. Or, he'll suggest you go to a PC rather than just mark the parts up.

One of my biggest failings ... just discovered by McNulters ... !

Yes, I'll admit to feeling pangs of guilt when saying that I have bought elsewhere other than Bert. He is excellent, and very helpful, and his contributions to Titanic (and on here, occasionally) are invaluable. But, as always, I shopped on price, and saving around £100 on a £550 shopping list wasn't to be sneezed at.

Yes, one of my other big failings is that I am a hard-nosed ba5tard who would sell my own granny for 50p.

I'd have done the same. The only reservation I have is that I hope, when the current economic climate improves, we've not lost too many real specialists and gained a load of suppliers who won't offer advice as well as products. Not defending anyone, or criticising the new suppliers.

Good point. Perhaps, inadvertantly, forums like this will put the more advice-dispensing suppliers out of business?

(Not a dig at this forum at all - by the amount I use it you can tell that I wholeheartedly approve of it.)
