Tomorrow evening now booked!
As I understand it from quite a bit of internet trawling, the first 2.7s had the same regulator as the 2.5S (3.5Bar), part no version 04, then at engine no 02680 they changed to 3.8Bar as the S2 and 968 part no version 06. Version 05 is for one of the Turbos.

James - Thanks - early 2.7s run at 3.5B like the S with the clamp on fitting, but the later ones run at 3.8B like the S2s, with a screw on! Mines a late one!
Nick - Thanks but but I'd get a new one at that price.
i thought you said porschapart were £125 and the only people in the country with one? i based my price on halfing that quote plus delivery? did i misread? only basing my price on what you said people were quoting.

Nick a used part like the FPR is practically worthless. It has no provinance or warrantee and could pack up the first week its fitted . It might be worth £20-£30 as a tempoary lifesaver to tide somone over until they can get a new one but no more. With a tyre or headlamp or dashboard etc you can see what life is left in the thing but with items like FPR and fuel pumps etc you have no real way of assessing that hence their low used value.ORIGINAL: nicksonmsport
yeah i thought porshapart were quoting £125 for a used one, so thought half price would be a good price!

James was very helpful and sorted me a spare (2 actually and some other bits!) FPR, which is now fitted and working nicely - well last night it was anyway!
Thanks again.

Thanks for the ideas Nick and I may go down that road eventually, but for the moment I just want to get it running for the Cotswold Rally on Sunday.

just come across a 3 Bar FPR for Porsche 944 Turbo which might do. Only £49.00 smackers but hopefully James's used jobby will see you through. can't believe the price of these things .[

Car started better than ever this evening.[
The later 2.7s run at 3.8 bar (as the S2 and 968) and have a screwed connector on the return rather than the push on and clip.
Fitting an original also took approx 1 min - so that helped the choice [
