Rutland 2018 - New date! Sunday 18th March

Currently sitting under a MetOffice "Amber" alert for heavy snow. Was out earlier in my Golf and there's so much salt and grit down that it looks like the Sahara out there. I doubt very much that my 944 will be moving tomorrow. Have fun, guys.

If the weather is anything like it is now (Cambridge) then I'm afraid the Porsche will be staying in the garage. There seems little point cancelling the event (given it's a meet up in a car park open to the public, there is nothing to cancel!) and there are still some folks with a clear and short route determined to meet. Please err on the side of caution and be safe. I'll be making a judgement first thing tomorrow.

I think Rob that for anyone with clear roads in the morning should be fine as the snow is just for tonight, or so it said. it is supposed to be pretty thick though so many may not risk it if their route takes them through areas affected...good luck to any you brave it...

Reschedule in a month at Grafham Water, takes me 10 minutes to get there on a mountain bike [:D].

Sorry chaps, this is what greeted me this morning and it is still snowing. Have fun and those that do make it, please drive safely.

Snow here just by Rutland. Not much but I think we probably got away lightly. Sadly I think I will have to agree with the sentiments of others and say don't risk it chaps.

Sorry chaps... I'm not going to risk it... looks horrendous out there. Lets try and find another date.

it would be nice to get out in the old girl....there may be more snow on the way so perhaps not too soon?

Pete

Yes I think we should reschedule if there is interest. With the current format it's really quite easy... just need to pick a date and then I book it in with Anglian water. How about a weekend in May? We've missed the usual Rutland opportunity for it to be the first meet of the year, so might as well wait for better weather.

Let's book a date & then get down to ladbrokes to see what odds they will give on snow in May :)

How about Sun 27th? Might be warmer by then and the Monday is a bank holiday.

Should get good odds on the snow.....

May would be better for me... Snow is forecast for this bank holiday in some parts so probably not a good idea...

Pete

Problem with Sunday 27th of May is that there seems to be loads going on that weekend as it is well into “the season”.

I‘ve been invited to 4 different events that weekend already.

one weekend in May I'm at my Model Engineering society for a family day, hope to take all of the grandchildren so it's a must...alas I can't remember which day it is, just recall it being in May...
