RUTLAND 2013

A dear friend of mine had persuaded me to join him in this epic journey (think Thelma & Louise but with men...) [:D] If any of you need any 'essential supplies' please P.M me to bring them along...

Yay!Will be good to see u Rick!Saw u at Autosport but didn't get to say hi,see u Sunday [:)]

Been snowing here in Colchester since 7ish this morning, starting to settle as well now [][] Although it is not due to be much, he says hopefully

There's just a few fine snow pellets coming out the sky here in Stamford, just down the road from Rutland. Forecast for tomorrow isn't for much more so we should be ok this end for tomorrow ;)

Not great here.....

OK, that was earlier in the year. [:D] Looking fine at my end, if bl@@dy freezing.

Guide times for Sunday Leave South Mimms by 8.45 Leave Toddington ? Leave Peterbough Services by 10.00 Arrive Rutland 10.45 ish
Hmmm. If you're going A1M from Sth Mimms it doesn't go past Toddington, lol! I'll head for South Mimms then. [&:]

I did wonder about that when i checked Google maps. Had a quick peek at the car this am to see all was well in preparation. After not moving for two weeks it wouldn't turn over. So back upstairs, grab the jump start pack, downstairs again to discover that I couldn't open the rear hatch to get to the battery. The key wouldn't turn in it's lock. A few minutes of swearing and carefully trying and it did grudgingly open. Got it going and took for a quick spin to blow out the cobwebs once it was warmed up. So all set for tomorrow. Hoping the snow holds off.

Paul, can you call me when you leave South Mimms? I'm planning to pick your convoy up en route. Worst case scenario I'll just meet you all at Peterborough. Cheers 07939 023 755

So... do we reckon the snow on "Rutland Weekends" is a coincidence or do we reckon Andy has diabolical powers? I'm going with "diabolical powers". [8D]

Hmmmm...It don't work on the lottery though. Had a call this morning from a Steve, heard about our meet and will be coming along to have a chat and the good news for Golf owners is he will be along in a TT, so you the Glf will have some company at the other end of the car park [:D][:D][:D]

Excellent. We uber-cool, vee-dub owners can have our own little private dub-fest in corner. I predict you'll all secretly want to be one of the cool kids! [:D]

No worries, put your number in the phone. [:)]

Car's not driveable, so I'm in the van. [:'(] I'll go straight there, I won't be able to keep up with you lot and there's no point coming a long way around. I'll be parked in the "Toyota Commercial Vehicle Register" area, just past the "Diesel VW" display. At least it already has a register sticker in the back window! [&:]

Oh that's a real shame Paul, we were all looking forward to seeing you nice shiney car. Still as you say better to find out now rather than tomorrow See you at Rutland

Should be at Peterborough services. Anyone have a post code for Peterborough services as well as rutland meeting point just in case?

We've had very fine snow 'grains' all afternoon but it only looks like a dusting of icing sugar here and there so all should be well for tomorrow as long as it doesn't dump a load overnight! Maybe next year we do Rutland in March, April.......[:D]
