Rubystone N/GT

I've been lucky enough to have enjoyed a thrilling ride in this car thanks to the current owner. Anyone wondering what it must have been like to drive a brand-new 964 RS/NGT need look no further. That's how good this car is, it looks like new and drives incredibly well, so taught, smooth and exciting.
My own RS has been fastidiously maintained and is very healthy but I was amazed at how much better that Kevin's car is.

That's bullish Kev!! :ROFLMAO:
Mel,
I thought long and hard a bout putting it up as POA etc. the truth of the matter is I haven't a clue how much the car is worth in the UK.

I do know for a fact that a 25k km N/GT in DE sold for 400k Euro recently, there is cheaper stuff out there for sure, there is also a sub 10k km original paint car up for an awful lot of money right now although it is offered to the cognoscenti only and may actually be sold as I type this.

What's my car worth? what someone is prepared to pay for it.....

Cheers and look forward to March!
Kevin

Thanks Ian, appreciate the feedback just a shame I can't continue to use it properly!

Stupid me sold zNS499198, rubystone RS NG/T, similar milage / condition three years ago for 130k €.

Not one week passes by where I severely regret having sold it. Not only because of the money. Much rather because driving the car feels so special ..

Kevin, are you really sure that you want to sell the car....

Best
Klaus

That looks fantastic Kevin, in possibly the most iconic colour for a collector.
It's impossible to know how quickly cars like this sell, someone may have been looking to add to a collection or have the funds burning a hole in the their bank account as stocks jump about?

I wouldn't be surprised if that price looks quite reasonable after the Essen show in April?

One thing that did surprise me from the dealer description was,
Porsche 964 RS N/GT
"The last ex-works road legal race car series built by Porsche"...... and a thrilling drive on road or track.

Every day is a school day :)

Good luck with the sale.

Never look back --- N-GT, prototype 993RS, Gt3 MkI CS, life is not a museum :)

True! It's better to use them to visit the museum in Stavelot after thrashing them round Spa Francorchamps. [;)]

Klaus,
I agree that the N/GT is a very special car, the extra rigidity of the shell makes the car even more "talkative" through bends and the 964 rear suspension although compromised is very entertaining on the limit! - I also have an RSL which I really should sell instead of the N/GT but I have owned the RSL a long time and therefore its the N/GT that must go - hoping I don't regret it too much.....
Best regards,
Kevin

Yeah...spot on Chris....life is not a museum and we are not collectors ! Having said that , my new cars are getting older , here is the latest , a 1955 outlaw in custody , tethered to its container..

John, that looks like fun :)

Are all Outlaws LHD USA models ? I really don't know much about the 356 ...

Hope it will be fun Chris ! I'm following the line that older slower cars can make it interesting at road legal speeds , doubt if it will go on a circuit , maybe Goodwood on a trackday . There is a really good coffee table book called Porsche Unexpected - Randy Leffingwell - that describes the Collier Porsche collection - features some of the cars I have owned / driven - including a non Outlaw version of the latest car ( 1955 356 Continental ). Get it on your birthday/Xmas wish list....

Thanks John,

I have my '73 2.4S for just such a reason :)

If you are coming to the RS day and if I get bumped on from third reserve ... I can promise you a drive of mine ... :)

I owe you ... !

P.S. Did I say that a Rubystone N-GT has to be the most lustful car ... possibly EVER ?

Unique serial number series for only 290 cars Worldwide, only one of two road ever cars produced by Porsche for the road with genuine Cup roll cage and stripped / painted interior --- and the other, the 993RS Clubsport was built within the normal serial number series and therefore less special ???

Though I believe the 964RS CS had a heated rear screen that was not connected, and the 993RS had a special rear screen with no heating elements --- go figure. Now somebody tell me that I am wrong :)

ChrisW, this is a wonderful example of an NGT.
You do realise they made considerably more 964 M003 variants than 993 though?
If, number of cars X special = sum of specialiness..... Then you are correct, 993 CS is therefore less special! [:D]
You are right on the rear screen.

Any idea on the number of 993RS M003 ?

I know that there were half the number of 993RS compared to 964RS --- but M003's ??

There were 290 964RS M003 .... but how many of the 993RS were M003 ?? In proportion to 964RS or ?

The point I am making is, who knows ?

290 964RS M003's is very close to the total production of 964RS Cup cars .... there were in fact close to 260 993RS Cup cars produced ??
