RSR bumpers

does anyone know if it is possible (and if so where) to buy the 3.0 litre RSR style fibreglass mouldings for both front and rear bumpers

Without wishing to hi-jack the valid question, I've been searching for GRP bumpers / valence / panels / sill covers that are identical to the original parts on the Carrera 3.2

Any ideas anybody ?

I recall John Ward (Turbo Reg Sec) had a set of RSR bumpers to fit a Carrera for sale recently.

Otherwise I would do a search over on Pelican and take advantage of the £/$ at the moment.

Thanks Alan, you're quite right.... I still have a (used) 3.0 RSR front bumper / valance and rear spoiler / engine lid, both of which are believed to be genuine.
I've been advised that I should look for £1000 for the pair of them, which seems quite reasonable given the money that was wanted for a Ruf SCR front valance when I was after one (does anyone have an inwanted one of these cluttering up their garage space?).

Check out www.gt-racing.com they do all the kit you would need. Even IROC stuff to fit standard width front wings etc. They are in the states so you may have to pay import tax and I do not know whatthe quality is like, im lead to believe it is good by others.

Although if I had no choice I would mouldings buy from the States fabricaters in my experience have massively varying standards. Even if it involves a long journey it's worth it to avoid the expense of having to prep a lousy moulding up to spec. I recently bought a hard to get hold of 3.8 left rear bumper from a 'reputable' dealer, it turned out to be a pile of crap which took a lot of work to put right and it was expensive.
I can't honestly recommend one supplier of fibreglass parts, that's not that they are all lousy but batches seem to vary so much. Look through the mags. Places I have used are http://www.design911.co.uk

have tried van zweeden already, they do appear cheaper than gt racing, but as you say difficuilt to determine quality without seeing

at the moment I'm just "window shopping" but certainly like the look of the 935 treatment, is that what you did to yours ?

I haven't tried Van - Zweeden but for what it's worth this is my experience with fibreglass etc. My car approximates a 964 styling wise I do have a licence plate with 935 in it though! IT has OEM used GRP 964 bumpers front and rear - no quality problem there - except the left rear bumper with the 3.8 twin exhaust outlet is extremely hard to find. I bought this in fibreglass and it was rubbish but finished after much prepping ok. If you want to know who it is email me and I'll let you know off line. The lower front lip I have on my car came from www.clubautosport.co.uk
It is one of the best pieces of fibreglass I have ever seen yet some people I have spoken to have not had such favourable comments about their products. The 3.8 wing and rear bootlid was sourced through www.design911.co.uk and despite the high temperatures it is standing up well, a few cracked grille spats and a little twisting that's all. I don't know who supplied them. The first one I rejected as it was diabolical. So it's not easy. Once you find a source for your parts post on different forums and wait for some feedback.
