Rs America...value???

I noticed on Rennlist a chap recently sold his 964 RS America for $22k.......now with the £/$ having recently been in the 1.98-2.00 range, this starts to make sense for a track day 911.

I appreciate an RS America is not quite a halfway stop between a regular C2 and a real deal RS (even lsd was option on RSA [:-]), more a lightly fettled C2 in fact, but certainly has me thinking at that price? [;)]

That is cheap compared with some recent sales. However, by the time you get one over to the UK, you would be better off with a C2. The RSA is one car that doesn't deserve the RS name (I will probably be hung on Rennlist![;)][:D])
 
No agree it is not a "real" RS as such, but for a factory prepped car with sports suspension, some RS interior and if you found one in maritime with lsd, it would still be a desirable and fun car none the less.
 
I might have got hold of the wrong end of the stick but.......

Most RSA's were only a little lighter (23kgs) than the ROW C2's, despite having, no power steering, the rear seats taken out and some RS inetrior. Yes, they did have option M030, sports suspension but I dodn't think tghere are many with lsd.

So, overall, you aren't really gaining very much over a C2 and by the time you import one, pay tax etc, would it be worth it??
 
Not worth it imho. Better to buy a low spec C2 and convert the bits. Would end up costing similar money in the end. Don't know the answer to this off hand but is the US M030 the same as the euro version?

It was a marketing exercise to shift the last C2 prior to 993 release.....
 
As per the link the RSA is more C2 than RS,,,,curiously the car I mentioned initially whch sold for $22k......went back to Germany,,,as did another I followed up on [;)]
 
I think a Maritime RSA is a rare beast. According to their club which has details on 350 cars, there is only 1 Maritime car on record!
