RO's Standing Down

The news that Alan and Keith have decided to stand down from their posts next year after the Region's WOTY in June has come a bit of a shock to many of us. But after 6½ years in post, they certainly deserve a bit of rest and I'm sure our sincere gratitude and thanks goes out to them for all they have done for this region, particularly at it's most difficult time during the pandemic.

We have enjoyed a wide range of events of every type covering one the largest, most diverse regions in our Club. Personally, I should liked to have seen a bit more happening here in North Devon, but as the majority of R15 seem to be based further east and south, it is natural most events centre around these areas.

It'll be a tough act to follow, but I am certain whoever picks up the baton will thoroughly enjoy the challenge and benefit from the status and the satisfaction running our Region will bring. So onwards and upwards! [:)]

Regards,

Clive

Thanks for the kind words, Clive. Not so impressed by the "Grocer's apostrophe" though [:D]
We're still here for another 8 months - hopefully enough time to recruit and work with our replacement(s) and get them up to speed.
It's certainly an interesting region to manage geographically and I'm sure our successors will build on what we've achieved and develop the Region further.
The Holy grail of getting greater member contribution, participation and involvement is one I've often tried to find and will be one of the challenges they will face.
I'll still be here, however, as an active member (probably still planning the drives!) for the foreseeable future.[:)]

..and I went to Grammar School too, but it's my birthday tomorrow - so put it down to senility. [:D]

Regards,

Clive
