Rolling Road Day for article for 911 & Porsche Mag

ORIGINAL: PSH

Any more before I ring them tomorrow or wednesday???

have you considered opening it up to other models or even marques Lee.. I realise it's for a 911&Porscheworld article but if it helps why not? the mag only needs to give details of the cars they actually need.

Pete

Hi Pete

I have thought of this, but 911 & Porsche where keen to have it as a 944 day article.

Would have been nice to have some 2.5 Lux, 2.7, S2's, 220 Turbo's, 250 Turbo's and tweaked cars inbetween.

We may get there yet!!! And not from want of trying

Lee

Only accurate comparison is putting the cars on the same dyno on the same day. I am off to the falklands tomorrow and by the middle of next week I should know if I can make it - 70% likely at the moment, but then just another modded turbo [;)]

...Could we not do a tandem day in the south.......

We could. But how many would be interested? We have to then get enough to another day.

I don't want to tread on anyones toes so if Lemon is cool with it I'll see if Charlie at SRR is free on the 12th and what numbers he needs to make it worth his while. Again only if I'm not treading on toes though :)

If one car is dyno'd on both rollers on the same day then that should make things much more comparable. Any takers? :ROFLMAO:

Assuming it is a Dyno Dynamics dyno why not make it the week after so Peter could make it to both. [;)] Obviously it can't be the week before as that would clash with Porsche & Polo - "The Middle Years Display Event" which all 944s are obviously going to unless they have a good excuse.

I'm happy to make up numbers on a Southern Dyno Day.

More the merrier though Tony[:D][:D][:D]

Just spoken to Steve at Dyno Demon in Neston who are hosting the RR Day.

He will make sure the coffee and tea is flowing during everyone's run's[:D]

For food he can organise something, but there is a greasy spoon for bacon butties just around the corner.
I said we were not a fussy punch and greasy spoon wins every time for me.[;)]

Hope that is OK for everyone else.

Will let you know of any other bits as we get closer.

Hey John you trying to get me killed by SWMBO.... I have enough trouble trying to get to one RR plus Chester will cost me a fair amount of money in fuel so if theres going to be a southern meet let's make it some time in the future .. further the better so I have the best chance of attending I'm sure Tony would prefer that too having already stated an interest for chester...[:)]

Sure thing PSH.

Shall I see what's available in October/November? Is there any dates that the club/944 forum has already booked for other events that we don't want to clash?

Peter it's a dyno dynamics machine, same as the G-Force one in Aylesbury.

Lee, it's looking like I'm going to have to pull out of the 12th September day [:(] my car is going to be at least another couple of weeks before its ready. [&o]

Is there anyone out there who can take my place so we can keep this date going?

Thanks for letting me know Paul, a shame you cannot make it...[:(]

Anymore for anymore. We need 6 cars plus for it to run, which is where we are at the mo...

So its 2 x S2, 3 x Turbo and Nick in his Beetle[;)]

More the merrier[8D][8D][8D]

Have you tried Tipec or any other sites to drum up the numbers? I refuse to believe theres only 6 people this end of the country who want to do this :)

Lee,

I can post a request for those who may be interested over at TIPEC if you wish. One of the first meets I went to was a dyno day in Bournmouth organised by TIPEC guys, a few of us from PCGB went along, I'm sure they would be willing to do the same.

Edd

Hi Trying to work out if Chester on the 12th is still on, if so I'd bring my standard old 944 - on the basis that its for completeness for the mag.
