Road trip around Wales

Ferry Man

New member
Just back from a few days exploring some very fine roads in Wales (thanks Feroz & the rest of the guys).
Cost to my low mileage car: Plus 750 miles on the odometer. Gain to the life bank of memories: Priceless.
I had some great driving time and wonderful camaraderie with like minded Porsche (air-cooled) enthusiasts.
The car performed faultlessly. And looked great. [:)]

Paul,

The car is looking incredible, must have been a toss up which one to take given the other cars taking part. Nice to see the pictures, I like the one of Darren's parked next to your RS.

Cheers

Tom

Thanks Tom, the 993 was politely quiet so Darren's car (on megaphones) provided a welcome hooligan soundtrack.

Where did you go, Paul? I'm in a hurry to put some miles on my car and I'm considering Wales or Scotland.

Ian

Well Ian, we took a couple of days and covered many of the fine roads in Wales, from South to North. I confess I was also up in Scotland in recent weeks and the driving around Loch Lomond was superb. But Mike is right, you can't beat the 'Evo Triangle'. Those guys know good roads and it deserves it's reputation. I'd recommend seeking out those particular roads and spending many hours up there. Ian,
Would be happy to be your local guide, know the roads well, might even get the one of the RS out if there's no salt around.....
Cheers,
Kevin

Was up there in April with a bunch of friends. Loved the Triangle and the A470 going home. Driving heaven!

Which are your favorites Kevin?
Evo triangle great, Ruthin-Cerrig superb, many of the roads around Bala, Chester-Corwen, Denbigh-Petrefoelas the list goes on and on.....

Well ...... it's a good idea to check the roads are clear! My first trip up there in the 911E. What it lacked in power it made up in the corners
