Well almost the STUIP [][]B****y DVLA rules are *************

They gave me a plate after 5 hrs of waiting !!!! The silly thing is they have not asked for the dating letter for the car
or the form from Customs.... Which I still have as they did not ask for it , Dur!!!!

Also they asked me to turn up in the car to look at it so I did. Then I waited when they gave me my tax and plate number they then informed me of it's an affence to drive a car with out plates .....dur that's what the ...... I came here for . It's like being at school. I went to get the plates now that an't easy they could not give them to me cos I
1 only had my passport and 3 letters addressed to me from the DVLA and the shippers x4 and customs and ex x2 and my insurance company x3 . So all had my address on and they said we have to have a utillity bill . what about the 14 letters with my ******* address on here then. most from Government bodies.

When I did find a place to get the number plates and was yes mate you got enought ID there. He said they will not let me make it cos they are linked to the DVLA as they have not updated the system [][][] All this is 2 hrs after being told it was illigal to drive with out a plate [:D][:D]what it is to be dumb DVLA ......

So stuff them I have had 10 days doing it the right way can't be bothered any more ordered some illigel number plates off the internet all donw in 10mins and cost £20 be here in 2 days sorted .

I have to say all these new rules are rubbish and all they do is really drive the legal motorist up the wall with c***

I did say in the end that I will telling my MOT man that you think he is a lie'er. ??????
why cos they only wanted to look at the VIN number and as a licenced MOT man for the DVLA he has to look for and write the correct number down. Same job done twice.

They really did not like that question/statement.[:)]

any way here is the fun bit guess what the reg number is

LBP 9 1 3 (pants!!!) P

LBP 913P

and they also got that wrong as it is an early March 1976 car it should be an " N " plate......

you got'a love them...... NOT!!

the DVLA came to inspect my volvo 1800s 3 times when I advised them the H in the VIN number on the V5 was in fact an 8. 3 months without a V5 and consequently no tax. Muppets!

Shame about the 913....... so close yet so far

I once had a Range Rover and to change the number a jobsworth from dvla had to check the chassis number which is about 12 digits long......he could make out the first 3 and the last 6 but because he could not read the other 3 numbers he would not allow the transfer to take place until i had spent about an hour in the pouring rain scraping sufficient crud off the chassis member so he could make out the rest of the number......If I was going to ring a bent motor I don,t think I would have bothered making an apppointment for the vehicle to be inspected in the first place!!!......

Dept of Very Lazy A**l People [:D]

well to be fair it only takes a few to be a bit of an idiot. I did come across a couple of guys who knew there stuff, and were helpful. When I came around... after the ambulance turned up they had gone and I had to deal with the muppets again[:D][:D]
