These are now portrayed in first, last sequence - if you see what I mean.

'Run What Ya Brung' Sprint at RAF Portreath, Redruth

What a blast this was (excuse the pun)!

For those of you who missed it, couldn't go, weren't able to go or whatever, you missed the treat of the year.

The runway was timed over a 1/4 mile, with a further 1/2 mile before a steep cliff, so you were encouraged to slow down at the end.

This was a standing start sprint, and it was car against car or car against bike, and you have never seen so many people grinning from ear to ear for so long. Without a shadow of a lie, it was a brilliant day. Everyone had 6 or 7 runs, so for a tenner it was pretty good value.

Many thanks to Gary Spalton RN for organising this. (Same again next year Gary). And also a big thank you to Tony Cocks who took most of the pics which can be seen on this web site. Look under the gallery section.

As far as I'm aware the FTD (of anything) was a bike (don't know what "" there were too many) that was timed at 148 mph at the 1/4 mile. Not bad eh? There was even a 50cc moped running nitrus oxide which just eclipsed 90mph through the 1/4 mile.

For those of you who went, but didn't give me your times, please let me have your BTD.

Dorset & Somerset (R26) Concours

A lovely day was had by all, with superb weather thrown in as well. This is what you call a real 'personal' Concours, with about 20 cars for good measure. We were able to just relax, and soak up the 'rays' all day long. An effort at the end to get in the cars and drive home.

Thank you Chris for the use of your home, and for providing the BBQ, tea, coffee, beers, and of course Emma who loved Phil & Tracey's doughnuts!

River Dart Adventure Park

For those of you who were able to attend"¦ what a fantastic day we had! One of the highlights of the year without a shadow of doubt.

And for those of you who were unable to attend, this should be a must next time. You will not be disappointed. For adults and children, there is something for everyone. And although the place was packed, because of its size, you sometimes felt you were the only ones there.

And as for the welcome we received? It's nice to see that customer service is alive and well and living in Devon. They could not have done more for us if they tried. Absolutely superb. Even a free BBQ. (Ok it was meant to be for the Aston Martin Owners Club, but they didn't want it).

Regional Concours - Poltimore Gardens

We could not have been blessed with better weather. What a great day this was. This was intended to be a "˜Back to our Roots' Concours, and it certainly lived up to its name. Thanks to the generosity of our host, Crispin Manners and his partner Helen, we were able to re-live past years at their home at Poltimore Gardens in Exeter. This was a lovely setting and provided a superb backdrop for the many cars that turned up and entered.

As usual, none of this would have happened without the dedicated support and help of many people. Firstly can I mention the committee members, Tony Cocks, Andy Rives-Roberts, Ron Cornwall and Graham Brookes who all gave up several evenings of their time over many preceeding weeks to help prepare the grounds. Then over the weekend itself, not just them, but also Jackie Steele, Lyn Cocks, Simon Pennicott, Judy Cornwall, Caz Rives-Roberts, Sue Pennicott, Colin and Debbie Buckingham, Malcolm and Lynne Smith, Dave Jones, Anne Knapp, Charlie and Sheila Garlick, who all helped to either run the club shop, sell refreshments or provide marshalling duties and the many others who helped on the "˜tear down' afterwards.

Can I also thank our local OPC in Exeter and Ian Davies, the General Manager, for lending us a Cayenne for the day, and for Dan Smitheran for spending the whole day with us.

Finally to Tony Cocks and Frank Taylor who were our Concours judges for the day. We decided to go the route of having dedicated judges this year so that the marking could be as fair and as consistent as possible. We recognise that whilst our "˜street class' Concours is intended to be a "˜fun' event, many members put in an extraordinary amount of preparation on their cars, and this must be acknowledged in the judging process. To my mind, this is the only fair way of conducting this process. Next year, we may also look at introducing an additional award (completely separate from the main R15 awards) that will give the entrants an opportunity to judge each other's cars.

So, on to this year's awards"¦

Class wins.

Clive Hoskins "" Carrera 911 SC

Congratulations to all the winners, but can I personally thank all the competitors who entered their cars. There were some extraordinary examples of the Porsche marque on show and clearly the level of preparation had to be seen to be believed. Your efforts were certainly appreciated by the attendees and the judges made it very clear to me that the standards were so high that their job was made all the more difficult.

Thank you everyone, and hopefully you will be back next year.

Cotswold Rally

Another great day for the few of us who went. And it rained as well - but at least not all the time!!! Weather looked promising. Perhaps that meant we could get a whole day in with no rain. (Or so we thought). A few of us hardy R15 souls decided to make the trip, and it was a grand day out and a lot of fun, if not VERY wet at one point (struggling to put the roof's up). And we hardly got lost (much)! A full appreciation of our visit has been written by Debbie Cunningham and can be viewed under the ' Region News' section on the web site.

' Drive & Ride' to Padstow

What a great day this was. Roof down all the way to Cornwall, well for those who had convertibles anyway. Seeing a line of Porsches in convoy is a great sight, down the M5, A38, across the Tamar Bridge and through the tunnel at Saltash. Then to Wadebridge before off to Padstow on a mixture of bikes and tandems. And even the rain held off! A full appreciation of our visit has been written by Andy Rives-Roberts and can be viewed under the ' Region News' section on the web site.

SOTY - Sunday of the Year - Roadford Lake

Oh did it rain! And lots of it! But we still had a great time. Thanks Graham for organising this.
A full appreciation has been written by Phil and Tracy Allen and can be viewed in the ' Region News' section on the web site at www.porscheclubgb.com under R15.

Welcome home safe and sound Phil. (He must have wished he' d stayed in the Gulf - with some decent weather).

Dockyard Visit - Devonport

A great time was had by all. An appreciation of our visit has been written by Lynne Cocks and can be viewed in the ' Region News' section on the web site at www.porscheclubgb.com under R15.

May I just say many, many thanks to Dave Jones for organising this trip on our behalf. We could not have put this together without him.

And to Frank Taylor and Tony Cocks for organising lunch at the ' Royal Plymouth Corinthian Yacht Club. Superb!
