Replacing bumper deco strips

After a bit of advice from the forum if anyone knows...

I bought some replacement bumper deco strips from Roger Bray to replace the ones on my car, but can't seem to find an easy way to remove the old ones to fit the new ones so wondered if anyone has done this job before?

I'm guessing you might need to slide out the black middle insert from the strip to access the bolts / screws on the original one, and then do similar with the new one, but wanted to check before I go off down the wrong route!

So just to add for completeness

The aftermarket bumper deco strips as per above are machine manufactured so that the outer metal edge fits very tightly around the rubber insert

If you do take part of it off to investigate, as I did, you will find that the bolts inside are actually smooth headed bolts with a square neck, that sit in a square hole in the bumper so cannot be attached from the front

You will then also be in for a world of pain as you try and convince the original hard rubber insert to go back inside the outer metal frame of the deco strip, and spend a good couple of hours with plastic trim tools and hand clamps to convince the damb rubber to go back in to place

It is possible as I achieved it, but it really is a world of pain so would suggest avoiding it at all costs

Therefore - what this does prove is that the bumper deco strips need to be removed and mounted from inside the bumper, so therefore it sounds like the only way to do this is to take the whole bumper off of the car, and then work from there

Anyone got any tips on removing the bumper itself? I'm guessing there will be a number of heavy bolts connecting the bumper to the chassis inside the front boot and engine bay to do this.
