Removing Cayman Vents

Getting some paintwork done to remove stonechips and as he is painting along the sides I thought it might be a good idea for him to paint the vents aswell so that they match.

Anybody got any advice on how to remove them?
Heard it is a pain and risks breaking clips etc!
 
I found a link to a 3 minute video that shows how to remove the side vents from a Cayman. I tried to copy the link to the forum but it failed so either try googling Cayman Side Vent Removal or join Planet 9 and do a search on there you will find info on it.
 
Presume you mean the side grilles behind (to the rear of) the doors? Think they are the same as on the 987 Boxster S that I have? If so ever considered just putting some pretty carbon fibre over the top instead of repainting them? Looks really nice on my Seal Grey paint scheme - they just bond straight on top - no removal required. Also replaced the plastic bits on the mirror base (with the hinge/lever inside) though this requres a bit of workshop time. Modest cost - looks great. Got mine from the Porsche Shop Halesowen.
