( ive checked now it is my old car)

Well well well I always said if I ever found it one day I would like to buy it again ( at a fair price) but have never found where the car went.

I sold the car to a 'trader' for 1700 pounds if i remember and I declared every single fault including front engine oil seals leaking , perished suspension rubbers knackered shocks etc but the paint was very sound.

The car has finally turned up on E-Bay BUT with several naughty faults including a broken odometer, broken sunroof and passenger window.

The seller says it was dry stored for several years ( presumably no recent history or a gap in it )
which is amazing as I was driving it round before he bought it.

I have to confess I'm itching to know if it was properly repaired [;)]

Well its done well over 200,000 miles and I sold it 2 years ago for 1700 quid as a total project declaring all the faults including multiple engine oil leaks and just asbiout every suspension mount and rubber plus shocks etc etc needing replacing.

The guy who bought it claimed to be a private buyer then turned up with a trade policy to collect the car and asked me to sell it as in trade on the V5. Fair enough I'm not knocking him for that , I got my cash
its not really my business. He then advertised it for sale straight away without declaring the faults in the ad and I had to let others know the state of the car on here as a fellow enthusiast would.

I am actually wondering if i'ts him selling the car now as he too was in the Hertford area and it seems a co incidence if not ! , I'm sure if he is reading the forum he will let us know [;)]

It's up for 3500 with no odometer ( and its been broken for about 3 years plus) , a broken sunroof , broken electric seat and passenger window etc. ( thats whats declared in the ad anyway) If they were easy fixes it would have been fixed wouldnt it ? especially if the seats have been done, the cambelt , some oil leaks etc.

I sold my last Turbo with about 115,000 miles and all working for 3500 so I think if he gets 3500 he's done
'very' well indeed but hey who knows.

Thats the story really [;)]

The guy's not very astute if he paid £2500 on those bits he mentioned - doesn't add up to £2.5k to me, unless I'm wrong!?

Lol were all 944 old lags here and we are all thinking along the same lines i asssure you.
The owner offered to let me see her tomorrow and i was tempted but only for old times sake NOT to buy her so i wont be wasting his time its not my way.
Dont get me wrong for 2,000 I'd buy her and stick her in a garage but not for 3 or 3.5.

I know of several 250 BHP turbos to be had from 4 to 5,000 in reasonable condition so it would be madness for sure. Still I'm glad to see she didnt end up on the scrap heap. The current owner told me on the phone that he sold the 16" Azev alloys on E Bay for 100 quid ! , I thought they fetched a lot more.

Cheers

Mas
