Not quite the same number of cars as previously now that the 911 turbo Register has been split up, but the quality was very high.
Thanks to those 930 owners who made the effort, which was especially worthwhile on the Sunday when we managed to get more than 10 of you in one place at the same time.
What's more, we even had contenders for the Anonymous Concours, with rosettes appearing on various cars on both days ( not mine though - it never fails to amaze me just how filthy a black car can look after a short journey on a wet road!).

I took my one Saturday, the black one and two others red and white that was it on display . My boy said, yours does not count John wrong section.
Thanks for the stickers John.

John

Can you clarify your statement please as I have obviously missed something "now that the 911 turbo Register has been split up," as I will be back in the fold once I'm back in Blighty.
Thanks
Gordon

Decision was taken to split 911 turbo Register into it's constituent models.
That left me looking after the "original" 911 turbos, the 930s, whilst the rest were absorbed within their desiignated model registers - 964, 993, 996 and 997.
So you are a 993 Register man now Gordon, but always welcome on this Forum and any other 911 turbo oriented event.

Good to see you again to, and delighted to see that 930LE of yours looking pretty much as good in the metal as it did in the magazine article.
No problem re cloth and polish - you put in the effort!
Cheers
John

Had a chat with Penny about weekend shows, and we decided that given the choice of 2 days, Sunday generally seems to be the better attended, unless of course there's a huge difference in weather forecast.
We managed 10+ 930s on Sunday, plus one interloping 964 - glad to see that you've trained your boy well in Porsche identification.
John

No worries, had a great day on Sunday at the Darling buds of May show.
We met a couple in a 356 that were at the show on Saturday like us.

Bl*&dy marvellous!

Unless I missed the posting. I presume they didnt bother asking the members what they thought. Just as a matter of interest I see from the 8000+ views that the members obviously still look under 911 turbo for 'Turbo' pictures.

Better reset my profile to include 993's.

I was mentioned quite a few times in Porsche Post.. The Turbo car having more in common with the base car etc

But hopefully John will be honest and admit he didn't want the newer models anyway [;)]

Not a question of honesty or otherwise - I'm on record as wanting the 911 turbo Register split between air cooled and water cooled models - splitting it between it's generic variants was the next logical step.
John.

I was there on the Saturday and was one of the 930's that had a rosette left on my windscreen which was most unexpected!! My car was also filthy after the Blenheim Rally, I'm new to this so had to make do with a bit of a wipe over with a wet/damp microfibre cloth. Hopefully there is a photo attached to this that shows the five cars there around lunchtime, mine is the white one on the left hand side. There was another lovely red 930 turned up at some point early afternoon. I heard from another 930 owner that there is some 930 parking planned for the Silverstone classic weekend. I'm going on the Sunday, is there anything I need to know?

John.

The 911 turbo register line up at silverstone last year was a much more healthy sight, and to me make's much more sence to put all 911 turbo varients together. Also I think it gets more turbo's to the event in question. Why should only one generation of turbo have its own section and the rest tossed aside, only to get lost in the rest.
Sorry last years register line up of turbo's looked far more interesting all together as one.
