FROM KEN COAD:
Dear Register Secretaries
RE - Register Display Day Sat 8th Sept 2012 - Calke Abbey, Ticknall, nr Derby off M1 junctn 22
As you may know I have been in discussion with National Trust and Heritage Open Days to find a suitable venue for a PCGB Register get together where as many as possible club Porsches will be assembled in some form of register order. I don't want to turn it into a commercial event with sponsors etc and the land owners don't want that anyway. It's an opportunity for the Registers to have a venue to meet up, picnic etc, show off their cars, no concours, but we could organise a competition. I plan to have a small marquee for membership and meeting area which needs setting up the night before and laying out parking using the "Events Team".
A few details about the venue, it's nearly 2 miles off the main road reached by an excellent single one- way track road, and return via another similar road. There are over 600 acres of wood and grass land designated National Nature Reserve, wonderful walks, deer, sheep, wild life etc. Our area allows for 200 to 500 plus cars and will be cordoned off.
Entry and venue is FREE, no costs to us, or the "club", all mod cons are available, refreshments loos, visits to the house and numerous buildings.
The venue will be open to the public and they will park on grass, behind our area. Parking area is just huge and goes on and on. We will be as near to the house and buildings as its possible to be "" just a few seconds away. And our presence will be publicised by Heritage Open Days to attract the public.
This is an attempt to support the club with a seriously low budget..
