From Regional Organiser David Baker:

Comrie Davis

I am sorry to inform you that long time member Comrie Davis passed away last week.

He and his wife Janet had been members since 1988 and were very active until recently, attending many Regional events over the years. Such was his love of the Porsche name he christened his first daughter Portia.

His funeral will be held at St Chad’s Church, Poulton-le-Fylde on 11 March at 1pm, followed by going to Carleton Crematorium, Stocks Road, Near Poulton-le-Fylde, Blackpool, FY6 7QS, at 2pm.

Parking for the church is available on Booths Car Park, Poulton-le-Fylde.

The family have asked If we can arrange a display of Porsches at the crematorium. Please let me know if you can attend. Comrie’s 964 will be following the funeral party to the crematorium.

A light buffet is then available at Singleton Lodge, Lodge Lane, Little Singleton, Poulton-le-Fylde, FY6 8LT. Please let me know if you will be displaying and then going to Singleton Lodge, to help with catering numbers.

Comrie was a gentle and quiet man who loved his Porsche's. His beautiful 964 was absolutely cherished, driving it with reverence and care. Whenever I saw him on the motorway he was always in the slow lane doing around 50 - 60 mph. As an engineer he respected the car and its qualities and he wanted it to last.

Always dressed in his jacket and tie, he had lots of time for people, but his gentle nature belied his resolve.

I last saw Comrie at the Supercar event at Hoghton Tower in 2024, where he clearly should advanced stages of dementia.

He has joined his beloved daughter Portia and leaves his lovely wife Janet behind.

RIP Comrie.
